ABSTRACT
Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) is a group of inflammatory demyelinating diseases of the central nervous system characterized by recurrent optic neuritis or long-segmental myelitis, with high recurrence and disability. The discovery of aquaporin 4-immunoglobulin G (AQP4-IgG) distinguished the disease from multiple sclerosis (MS) and became an independent disease. T cells, B cells and complement system were involved in NMOSD pathogenesis. The levels changed of many cytokines and complements components in NMOSD patients' serum and cerebrospinal fluid, and the levels of other related laboratory indexes such as serum uric acid (UA) and thyroid hormone has also changed dynamically. The research status and progress of some laboratory-related indexes other than AQP4-IgG for NMOSD patients were reviewed in present paper, in order to provide new ideas for clinical diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of NMOSD, and reduce the rates of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.
ABSTRACT
Objective To study the relationship between traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)syndrome differentiation of multiple myeloma(MM)and laboratory indexes of MM,thus to supply evidence for the syndrome differentiation of MM. Methods A total of 59 MM patients were enrolled in the study. TCM syndrome differentiation was performed. And we also collected the laboratory indexes of serum protein electrophoresis (SPE),immunofixation electrophoresis (IFE),blood urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine (CREA),serum beta 2 microglobulin,serum calcium(Ca),hemoglobin(Hb),Bence Jones protein,flow cytometric-immunophenotyping(FCM) and bone marrow cytology. The differences of the laboratory indexes in various syndrome types of MM were analyzed. Results No significant differences were found in myeloma cell morphology, M protein content, IFE typing results, Bence Jones protein positive rate and the concentration of Ca of various syndrome types of MM (P >0.05). However,the concentrations of BUN,CREA,serum beta 2 microsglobulin,Hb,and the positive rates of CD19- and CD56+ were significantly different in various syndrome types of MM (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). Moreover,Hb,BUN,CREA,and serum beta 2 microspheres were significantly correlated with each other(P<0.05 or P < 0.01). Conclusion Hb, BUN, CREA, blood beta 2 microglobulin and FCM detection can be sued for the auxiliary diagnosis of syndrome types of MM, and for preliminary demonstration of illness severity and prognosis. The results will provide the basis for the treatment of MM with traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine.
ABSTRACT
Objective To investigate the effect of self-made Guben Pingchuan Huatan decoction on curative effect and laboratory indexes of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease .Methods 98 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in stable stage in our hospital from September 2014 to September 2016 were selected and divided into observation group with 49 cases and control group with 49 cases according to the random number table method .The control group was given tiotropi-um bromide treatment ,while the observation group were given the basic treatment the same as the control group with the combina-tion of self-made Guben Pingchuan Huatan decoction .Two groups were treated for a period of 3 months .The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared ,and the changes of pulmonary function ,6MWT and serum inflammatory factors before and after treatment were compared .Results The total effective rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0 .05);FEV1 expected value ,PEF and FEV1/FVC value of the two groups after treatment were increased (P<0 .05);FEV1 expec-ted value ,PEF and FEV1/FVC value of the observation group were higher than those of the control group after treatment ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .05);6MWT of two groups after treatment was increased (P<0 .05);6MWT of the observation group after treatment was higher than that of the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .05);IL-6 ,IL-8 and MMP-9 levels were decreased after treatment in two groups (P<0 .05);IL-6 ,IL-8 and MMP-9 levels of the observation group were lower than those of the control group ,and the difference was statistically significant (P<0 .05) .Conclusion The self-made Guben Pingchuan Huatan decoction has a remarkable curative effect on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease ,and can significantly improve the pulmonary function of patients ,and lower serum inflammatory cytokines IL-6 ,IL-8 and MMP-9 levels , thereby reducing the inflammatory state of patients .
